About the Role
The Videographer/Video Editor will be responsible for capturing and editing live dance, theater, and musical performances throughout the Bay Area. This role involves working both independently and in collaboration with the Rapt team.
Schedule: Variable week to week, depending on the performance season
Estimated Hours: 5–20 hours/week (flexible, project-based)
Compensation: based on experience and project scope
Note: On-location assignments include minimum call hours to ensure fair compensation for setup, breakdown, and travel time, even for shorter shoots

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
Understands dance—from stage to site-specific performances—and is excited to learn how to capture its essence on camera.
Comfortable under pressure — videography of time-based performance requires fast-paced problem-solving, attention to detail, and sustained attention and engagement.
Has experience with video editing software (Final Cut Pro X preferred, but open to other platform experience).
Is familiar with photography and/or filmmaking with additional experience handling professional camcorders (or technically minded and eager to learn).
Has reliable transportation and is comfortable transporting gear to filming locations throughout the Bay Area.
Can lift and carry up to 40 lbs of equipment.
Comfortable standing for 3 - 4 hours at a time.
Primarily available weekends (Thursday - Sunday) for rehearsals, performances, and shoots.
Is reliable, self-motivated, self-reflective, adaptable, and eager to grow in dance videography and editing.
